“The Heroic Dead”
Hebrews 11:7 – Genesis 6:5- 6:22, 7:1
- Three distinctives of Noah’s faith:
- He was declared righteous by God.
2. He was considered blameless by the people.
3. He was found walking with God.
- Noah’s heroic faith was marked by:
- THE WARNING HE HEARD.
- Concerning God’s judgment.
b. Concerning the building of a boat.
c. Concerning the sending of rain.
d. Concerning the making of a covenant.
- THE FEAR HE EXPERIENCED.
- This fear carried three dimensions:
- Great concern.
2. Great respect.
3. Great devotion.
- THE WORK HE DID.
- He built the ark.
b. He preached repentance.
- THE MESSAGE HE SENT.
- Was based on what he heard God say.
b. Was driven by what he saw the people doing.
c. Was shaped by what he practiced in his life.
- THE REWARD HE RECEIVED.
- His family was saved.
b. His position was secured.
